Direct-to-film prints your artwork onto a carrier film with a powdered adhesive, then heat-presses it onto the garment. The result bonds to almost anything — cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, caps, bags — with bright, opaque colour on dark fabrics and a stretch that doesn't crack. We run it in Bahrain from a single piece up.
What it is
DTF starts as a digital print, so there is no colour limit and no screen setup: photographs, gradients and fine lines all print as they are in the file. The film is dusted with a hot-melt adhesive, cured, and pressed onto the garment at temperature. What is left is a thin, elastic layer bonded into the weave.
Because the adhesive does the bonding, fabric barely matters. Polyester sports kit, poly-cotton hoodies, nylon jackets, canvas totes, the front panel of a cap — DTF prints where DTG can't. On dark garments the white layer is built into the transfer, so colours sit bright on black without pre-treatment.
Trade-off: you can feel a DTF print more than a DTG one. On heavyweight cotton with a large, soft artwork we may still recommend DTG; for small logos, bright colour, blends and anything non-cotton, DTF is the answer.
When to choose it
Polyester, blends, nylon, performance fabrics — DTF bonds where direct-to-garment ink won't.
Opaque white is built into the transfer. Neon on black, white on navy — no dulling.
Cheaper per piece than DTG as numbers grow, without the screen charges of screen printing.
Front panels of caps, tote bags, sleeves and small placements that a flat print bed can't reach.
One transfer per name from a list, pressed on in a single session — team kit and staff tees.
A large, painterly print on a heavyweight cotton tee feels better as DTG. We'll tell you.

A properly pressed DTF transfer is elastic and washes well. Wash inside out at 30°C, don't iron the print directly, and it lasts the life of the garment.
